Plainview Residents can Contribute Food Items

Residents can drop off food donations at Sunrise of Plainview on Nov 20 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to help those in need. Sunrise of Plainview is joining Long Island Cares to support the vision of a Hunger-Free Long Island. This food drive is an excellent opportunity to support our local community. 

Residents can also make cash donations online to help residents ensure that a family does not go hungry during the season. Typical food items most needed by many foodbanks include: 

• Pasta – canned or dry
• Pasta sauces
• Peanut butter, soy, assorted nuts
• Canned goods of all kinds, including soups and stews
• Dairy products – canned or powdered milk
• Canned vegetables and fruit 

All food donations should be non-perishable to enable prompt storage and distribution to families in need.
